Quartz surfacing material is approximately 93% pure quartz crystals, which gives the product depth and radiance without the imperfections of natural stone. Quartz is also one of the strongest minerals, making its surface extremely durable and scratch resistant. Custom-fit to your exact specifications and virtually maintenance free, quartz is perfect for your home. If you are looking for a countertop that requires minimal upkeep yet looks sophisticated, that you can choose in a color to match your kitchen, and that is heat and scratch resistant, quartz countertops are the countertops for you.

Quartz Qualities
Easy Care & Maintenance
Certainly one big advantage quartz has over granite is that it is stainless and never needs to be sealed. The quartz countertop requires zero maintenance, which is a significant incentive for a lot of people.
Scratch Resistant
Quartz is highly scratch resistant, but it can and does scratch. Because of the high content of naturally hard crystals, quartz can withstand many cuts and abrasions that would otherwise scratch you counter surface. We don’t recommend using it as a cutting board, this material is very resistant to cutting and abrasion.
Stain Resistant
Quartz countertops are non-porous, making them stain resistant, have a very low water absorption rate, and do not require sealing. You need not worry if you spilled some wine, coffee or oil because the nonporous surface will not retain the liquids and you will be able to clean it right away. This provides a real advantage compared to other types of surfaces that need to be sealed regularly.
Heat Resistant
Quartz surfacing is very heat and scorch resistant. Quartzcan tolerate heat without burning or scorching up to a limited temperature. Still, it is recommended that you use trivets or protective pads when you are placing a hot pan, as excessive heat can damage the finish.
Impact
Quartz scores a seven on the Mohs Hardness Scale, compared todiamond which is a ten. Quartz is highly resistant to scratches and can be immune to a careless slip of the knife. It will also prove resistant to chipping and cracking, which will make it easier to transport and install. However, you should not overdo it, although quartz can withstand impact, edges can chip under hard impact.
Durable
Unlike high-maintenance granite and marble (they’re beautiful but fragile!), quartz is naturally stain repellent and impervious to acidic foods. It’s resistant to scratches and chips. Translation: you don’t have to worry about your countertops looking trashed from normal wear and tear. Quartz doesn’t require any sealing, whereas granite and marble require at least yearly treatments.
Style
Quartz provides a consistent look throughout the entire slab.It is available in a variety of colors, patterns and combinations. You are sure to find one that goes with the other elements of your room, whether you want a more serious monochrome appearance or more obvious color combinations. Either way, you will fall in love with the clarity, the depth and the firm feel that it offers.
Food Safe
Unlike granite, quartzhas been certified by NSF International for use as a food preparation surface. Quartzis nonporous, making cleanup easy and preventing food and moisture from penetrating its surface – the main source of growth for harmful bacteria. This texture also makes it very safe, as it is difficult for bacteria and other pathogens to develop. It is the perfect material for moist environments like the kitchen and it will be easier to maintain.
